Search and filter recipes

Quickly find recipes in your collection using search and filters.

What you can do

Search recipes by title, or filter by:

• View type (All, Favorites, Archived)
• Tags
• Source (manually created vs. imported)

When you'd use this

• You have many recipes and need to find a specific one.
• You want to see only your favorite recipes.
• You want to browse recipes by tag (e.g., "vegetarian", "quick dinner").

Step-by-step instructions

On web

Search by title

1. Go to the Recipes page.
2. Type in the Search recipes... box at the top.
3. Results filter as you type.

Filter by view

1. Click the view selector above your recipe list.
2. Choose:
   • All Recipes — Show all recipes.
   • ❤️ Favorites — Show only favorited recipes.
   • 📦 Archived — Show only archived recipes (Premium).

Filter by tags

1. Click Filter by tags... dropdown.
2. Select one or more tags.
3. Only recipes with those tags will show.

Filter by source

1. Click the source dropdown (shows "All Sources" by default).
2. Choose:
   • All Sources — Show everything.
   • Created manually — Recipes you made from scratch.
   • All imported — Recipes imported from URLs, text, or photos.
   • Specific domains (e.g., "seriouseats.com") — Filter by import source.

Clear filters

• Click Clear to reset all filters and search.

On mobile

Search by title

1. Tap the Recipes tab.
2. Type in the Search recipes... field at the top.

Filter by view

1. Tap the view selector below the search bar.
2. Choose All Recipes, Favorites, or Archived.

Filter by tags

1. Scroll right on the tag chips below the search bar.
2. Tap a tag to filter by it.
3. Tap Clear filters to reset.

Tips

• Add descriptive tags when creating recipes to make filtering more useful later.
• Favorite your go-to recipes so they're easy to find.
• On mobile, pull down to refresh your recipe list.

Troubleshooting

Can't find a recipe

• Check that you're not filtering by a tag or view that excludes it.
• Clear all filters and try searching by title.
• Make sure you're signed into the correct account.

"No recipes found" with filters applied

• Try removing filters one by one to see which one is excluding your recipes.
• The recipe may not have the tag you're filtering by.
