Import from recipe websites, Instagram posts, photos of cookbook pages and pasted text. Recipes in other languages can be translated to English. Extraction can get things wrong, so you check the draft before it's saved.

Three recipes need onions. Your grocery list does not need three separate onion situations.
Smart Merge adds up compatible amounts and recognises the same ingredient under different names, while keeping things like fresh and dried herbs apart. Amounts it can't safely add up are left for you to decide.

Keep using the AI app you like. Give it something useful to work with.
Once you allow it, it can search your saved recipes, save new ones, plan meals and update your grocery lists, all inside your Spiceful account.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets compatible AI apps work with Spiceful's tools and your data, after you grant access. There's no Spiceful chatbot to learn: you keep talking to the AI app you already use.
This is a manual setup in your AI app. Spiceful isn't listed in any app's connector directory yet, and custom connectors aren't available on every plan or workspace. Full setup and troubleshooting

Recipes, lists and plans your AI app reads are sent to that app, and its own privacy policy applies. Spiceful can't see your conversations.
AI apps that let you add a remote MCP server (often called a custom connector) and sign in with OAuth. The setup steps below cover Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP apps; what's available depends on your plan with that app and, at work, on your admin's settings.
Only if you allow it. When you connect, you choose View only, View and edit, or View, edit and delete. Deleting anything is always previewed first, so the app can show you exactly what would go.
Yes. Each connection is listed separately in Settings → Connected AI apps, with its own permissions and recent activity.
Imports come back as a draft for you to check, and the AI app can fix things before saving. Extraction isn't perfect, so give it a look, especially amounts and steps.
Yes, the same ones as the app. AI imports count toward your monthly imports (10 on Free, 200 on Premium), and meal planning reaches 7 days ahead on Free and 90 on Premium. Saving a recipe your AI app wrote isn't an AI import, but it still counts as a recipe.
In Spiceful, go to Settings → Connected AI apps and choose Disconnect. It stops immediately, from the web or the mobile app, and your recipes stay put.
Not at all. Everything here is optional. Spiceful works the same whether or not you connect anything.
